Relationship

“Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.” (‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭16:11‬)

A vibrant, glowing, exciting relationship with God doesn’t happen automatically. Just like our earthly relationships, heavenly ones take work and involvement by all interested parties. Maybe you can’t imagine a close, personal, intimate relationship with the one and only God of all the universe. Okay. Don’t imagine it. Do it.

God has already demonstrated his willingness to cross the extreme borders of time and space to meet us. The least we could do is reciprocate; he’s given us access to himself by a visit from his own Son, the receipt of the Holy Spirit, volumes and volumes of his written word, and the fellowship of other believers.

He wants it. How bad do you want it? That’s the question. There are all kinds of verses about knocking on the door, calling on the Lord, asking, seeking. He’s pleading with us to engage with him. He has so much to give, the only reason we don’t get it is due to our own lack of effort.
